I been thinking about doing this post for a while, this list contains the top 10 apps I use on a daily basis as a Software Engineer; the list also includes a few examples on how I use the app and how much they cost.

iTerm2

Every time I setup a new new Mac this is one of the first apps that I install. This is the perfect replacement for the stock terminal with tons of customizations. My favorite features are the endless themes that you can setup with “Oh My Zhs” and the ease of creating and managing tabs.

Example of my current setup
Using split screen, running a Docker container below and running php commands above

Alfred3

By far this is my favorite app, it changes the overall experience of using a Mac. Alfred3 adds a ton of functionality to the Mac Spotlight. Some features that I love about Alfred3 are the clip board history, which can keep text and images up to 3 months; open Chrome bookmarks quickly and run smart workflows. You can find super useful workflows at http://www.packal.org/
